Why can’t you see me?
Darkness falls, sinking fast. Piecing pain feels like glass.
Rolling riving twisted and torn, flashers of light,
Then it was gone.
It was just a night out. Have a little fun.
Turned into something that can’t be undone!
I shouldn’t have been there I was told not to go.
I’m 16 and knew better. My friend’s not a ho,
She’ll stick by me, and I by her.
We go out all the time, we’ve done it before.
Pills being pass. A love fest begins,
Music, lights, drinking friends.
A crazy night it was for sure,
Dawn is breaking, head for the door.
Drizzling slightly with a chill in the air
My friend starts vomiting, I hold her hair.
Try walking home. Huddled close together
Friends pulled up. “Jump in get out of this weather”
Thankful for the offer, we didn’t think twice!
No hesitation. The heater was nice.
Roads are slippery and he’s driving too fast
I had no idea this breath would be my last
The car starts swerving out of control
Screaming, clutching each other as we start to roll
My friends bent, twisted body, blood drenched hair
She is now on life support. In intensive care
3 of us died, one barely alive.
Only time will tell if she will survive
If only I had made better choices
Advice from parents I still hear their voices
No booze, no drugs, don’t drink and drive
If only I had listen I would still be alive
Rolling riving twisted and torn, flashers of light,
Then it was gone.
It was just a night out. Have a little fun.
